What position do you/ did you used to play?

Used to play in left midfield as I was normally the only left footed player in the team, but recently started playing in a competitive 6-aside league where I've found I'm actually better suited to playing as a centre back. Although I think that might be because years of smoking in the past and doing no exercise has left my fitness a bit fucked.

was a goalkeeper as a kid with my local club. Was quite good and got the player of the season when I was 10 but my younger brother got better and is a pro in Scandinavia

Centre-half but was better at other sports so moved on pretty early.

I started out in goal, but didn't seem to grow quick enough to deal with the change in goal size come senior school.
Moved to left back (on account of being the only left footed kid in the class) and depending on who I played for, a lot of the time I ended up playing upfront.
Later on, I played holding midfield before fucking it all off and having a season managing the works team to 4th in the league.
Too old, too fat to do it; but if I can find the right team in the right league; I'd go back to playing left back.

I think I woud have been a better midfielder though as I bossed the midfield in prison in 2016 for the prison team !
I hadn´t played in ages.
You had the option to practice football over the summer time so I went for it.
But I´m too slow now as I´ve reached 36 and lost some serious pace, so I hanged up the boots :)

I couldn't header, couldn't tackle, no pace, couldn't dribble but could pass and finish ok so I played up front as the deeper striker until one manager bizarrely moved me into central midfield. Only went and won the League mainly due to me having a player next to me who was a mix of Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira so he did all my work!!
Then arthritic hips struck 10 odd years ago and this short, fat, knackered mess finished off by wining three WHO Tourneys and scoring 3 goals at Upton Park in four years and I'll be eternally grateful to the 10 others who literally carried me through that. God knows what they thought as Jimmy Krankie walked through the dressing room doors!!!!!

But hated tackling anyone.. never did a sliding tackle once!

Left back / left wing depending on the team, and most recently goalkeeper.
Also, first base; goaltender or defenceman; and center.

Played Centre Mid for about 90% of my footballing life... 5% at right back (hated it) and the last bit of my career as sweeper (loved it)... miss it like fuck (last competitive game in 2006)... still involved with our old mob (been with the club since 1990) at Veterans level ... the ability is surprisingly good playing against ex-pro's/semi pro's... and also none of these bent Modern day rules regarding tackling that Sven and Karren Brady so love these days... tackles are proper tackles... old skool... love my Sunday mornings...
